Welcome!

The Manchester Incorporated Law Library is one of the oldest purpose built law libraries in the UK and was established in 1885. The Library provides a subscription service to members of the legal profession only and membership forms are available on request.

The Library is open between 9 and 5 Monday to Friday.

Our collection holds historical legal books some of which date back to the seventeenth century, although the majority date from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A classified collection of modern law books, law reports, journals and statutes are available for loan and cover a wide range of legal topics. Each month new books are selected for the Library and we provide a list of recently purchased books that is available on request. Suggestions for new books to be added to the Library are welcomed.
